A fact about me you may not know: I'm a horoscope fanatic. I read mine every day, and I'm the exact description of a Virgo woman. I have a Virgo necklace and one of the first questions I ask people is what their sign is, not trying to pick them up lol, but to get to know them better based off what I know of their sign, and see if they have certain characteristics that their sign would. People think it's bogus, but between all the boyfriends and friends I have, I've worked out best with the ones I should've, according to my sign.
Anyway, Wet N Wild has a Zodiac collection, and while the entire collection isn't vegan, there's a decent amount that are. I got myself their Megaglo Loose Highlighting Powder ($6.99) and I actually bought 3 lipglosses, the Virgo one for myself, the Scorpio one for my sister, and the Pisces one for one of my best friends. Each were $2.99, which, their products are always incredibly affordable and never feel cheap. It's pretty awesome. Everyone thinks vegan beauty has to be expensive, and it sure can be, but Wet N Wild has some awesome vegan products and they'e incredibly affordable, which is why they're a cult favorite amongst vegan makeup lovers. Plus, the brand itself gives me nostalgia from high school and being young and free, so it evokes a feeling of youth that just adds to its appeal, for me.
Try as I may, I could't get a great photo to illustrate the color of the gloss. But, I wanted to make a few points about it, so if my fellow zodiac babes are interested, they know what's up:
1) This gloss is so much more moisturizing than I had originally anticipated. I typically apply lip balm under and over (and over and over) everything I wear on my lips, but I just had this on under in the morning and it was perfect. This is because of the Argan, Macademia, and Jojoba Oils that are part of the ingredients.
2) It's pigmented and long lasting, which is surprising for a gloss. I was surprised to find much color at all, plus have it last, despite the amount of snacking I do at work. It's like every hour I'm munching on something lol.
3) I love that the colors don't match up with your birthstone. I have Sapphire at my birthstone, I do not like the color blue. I wouldn't have bought it. This is a type of brown with gold glitter, but it's not in your face. It delivers the perfect amount of pigment. I found it complimented my skin tone and brown eyes well.
4) Just as an FYI, if your shade is glittery like mine, be careful taking it off your lips. I'm not kidding when I tell you it stays really well. But, the glitter can be harsh when removing it. so be careful not to rub it off and injury your very delicate lip skin!
I don't typically use glosses much anymore, but this one stays in my bag for regular use. Sometimes, when I just want to be a little bit fancy, I throw some on and work and rock it. For the price tag, you can do what I did, and buy one for you and for all your girls too, and add it to their birthday or Christmas gifts.
If you've been reading my blog for awhile now, you know that highlighter = life. I don't discriminate with my highlighters; pressed, liquid, loose, stick form.. they all make me shine bright like a diamond. I use this after my setting powder, and dust a little bit with my big fluffy powder brush all over to give a nice little shine and it really does a great job reflecting light and adding to the overall blurring effect on your skin. A little does go a long way, and I focus more on the areas I want to be a little extra with.
Wet N Wild has a great list of their vegan products, however, they're not updated to include these collections. Your best bet is to look at the ingredients list and determine based off of what you know, or, send them an email. I usually recommend an email to be sure. A lot of products have a "May Contain" or similarly a "+/-" section which means they could be in there and could not be in there. It could be a possibility of cross contamination due to shared equipment, or something different, and your best bet is to contact the company for full details, where you can make you own decision based on your comparability level.
Wet N Wild is not the same brand you loved as a teenager; they've grown, but their prices haven't. Don't write them off until you try them!
