Halloween, for me, is life. I eat, sleep, breathe, love, and live it! October is my month, and there's so many exciting releases that come out that I absolutely have to have. These are two of those items:
Witch Baby Soap is one of my favorites. I've been using her stuff for a few years, when I found her stand at Monster Mania, a horror convention my husband and I go to every year twice a year. She makes vegan and cruelty free products and they're all spooky! I've loved everything I've used by her but my absolute favorite is Hallowmas. Here's the description, taken directly from the Witch Baby Soap website:
"Hallowmas is a Halloween cult classic. This autumnal butter is the embodiment of October. It has the intoxicating aroma of crushed caramelized jack-o-lantern guts drenched in bourbon vanilla with a dash of warm pumpkin spice."
Is your mouth watering yet? The scent is amazing. It's sweet and savory, and every time I apply it I crave pumpkin pie! The scent does last for a decent amount of time too. I wish it lasted longer but when something smells this good, how could you not wish that?!
This body butter is so luxurious. It is super thick, and a little goes a long way. It's made with shea butter, coconut oil, and grape seed oil. This isn't an apply and go kind of deal. You need to apply it and let it soak in for at least 10 minutes or longer to allow maximum absorption. It can feel greasy at first but it does eventually absorb. It leaves my skin incredibly soft and moisturized. Even through the next day, it's still soft. As the months get colder, I want a thick body butter for my skin because often times lotion isn't enough.
As you can see, the butter is a tannish color. But, as you rub it, it turns orange, which I tried to capture in the picture for you. I just love that! It's so fun!
She offers two different sizes in this, a smaller and a bigger one. I got the 4 oz size for $8. The full size is 9 oz and I think that one costs $15 but everything is sold out now so I can't say for certain. What I can say is that I love this body butter and you will too, if you can get your hands on it once she restocks it!
I also ordered the Hallowmas solid perfume. This is my first time ever trying her solid perfumes. It's the same wonderful scent as the body butter, but in a sunflower seed oil and wax base.
I'm always skeptical about solid perfumes. I find that, often times, they can be heavy. Also, they can leave a greasy residue wherever you apply them. For that reason, I usually avoid them all together, but I especially avoid them when it's warm out. Now that it's cooler out, and I love the scent so much, I figured I would give this one a shot.
I'm happy to say that this one doesn't leave any residue, and it blends into your skin well. My only real complaint is how light the smell is when it's applied. This fragrance is wonderful but it's one of those scents that people will need to be close to you in order to smell it. The scent doesn't last long either. If there was a way to make this scent into an actual spray perfume, I would be sold! I would buy the biggest bottle she would sell, but I don't think I'll be repurchasing this one again. This tin is $10.
When it comes to her fall and Halloween collection, they sell out fast! She does re-stocks, and I would definitely suggest following her on Instagram to stay up to date on her releases!
