Every makeup remover, wipe, and pad has burned my eyes literally ever since I've been using them. Even ones made for sensitive eyes. Yes To Carrots makes the Cucumber ones specifically for sensitive eyes. Well, they burned too. I even used to use baby oil when I was in high school, and even that irritated my eyes. So to say I'm a skeptic when it comes to eye makeup remover is an understatement. I received S.W. Basics cream in my Petit Voir box a few months ago and I loved it. All natural real simple ingredients. They only use five ingredients or less. That's pretty impressive. I use the cream on my eczema and it doesn't burn, no matter how irritated it is. So when I saw they offered an eye makeup remover I was thought about how gentle it is on my eczema.. and I decided to give it a shot. It came in this cute little glass bottle. I don't know what it is, but anytime I get a beauty product in and it's in a glass jar or bottle, instantly it feels fancier. From the ingredients above, you can read there is only 3 of them: organic sweet almond oil, organic olive oil, and organic jojoba oil. That's it. But if baby oil burned, this could too! Luckily, this didn't burn! In fact, it's awesome! The smell is so amazing, first and foremost. It's slightly sweet and natural. Second, it's so light! It doesn't feel heavy on my eyes or overly greasy. It's an oil, but it's not heavy. Third, it truly didn't burn, not at all. Out of habit, when I take my eye makeup off, and I open my eyes, I'm nervous and ready for the burn. But I could open my eyes no problems with no issues at all. And, I get contact dermatitis on my eyelids from something I'm allergic to but can't seem to pinpoint (I'm just a barrel of problems aren't I?! Lol. No joke when I said I have sensitive skin!), and it didn't even irritate that. Fourth, this can bonus as a lightweight moisturizer if you choose not to wash it off. Just massage it into your skin! It doesn't even have to be just around your eyes, you can use it on your face too! I typically only wear mascara most days unless I'm feeling fancy and I do a whole eye, so I used it on both my regular mascara day (yesterday) and today on a full fancy eye with mascara eyeliner and eyeshadow. The results you see below are just mascara, but I can attest it worked really well on my fancy eyes too. I just took a cotton pad, shook the bottle a little, and only used a little bit, and added a little more if I needed as I went. Here's a before and after: They offer 2 sizes- a 2 oz for $14 or a 1 oz for $10. Considering I've never used it before and I was ever the skeptic, I decided to get the 1 oz. I ordered it Monday morning 5/16 and I received it yesterday (Wed)- so shipping was super duper fast. Shipping was also only $2.99 so not terrible.
I'm amazed at how well this stuff works. And still amazed that it doesn't burn while being effective. My eyelids and around my eyes after just two days of use already feel softer so, I'm a believer! You will be too! Buy yourself a bottle right now! Happy Shopping!
