I love painting my nails, and aside from my lack of patience for them to drive, the other thing that drives me crazy is the fumes. I'm very sensitive to smells, and nail polish, and especially nail polish remover. Talk about a headache. I've actually had this for awhile now, but I have another one I'm using so I wanted to wait to try it until I finished my other one, but today I went ahead and tried it, so I could review it.
First, let me tell you, no harsh odor AT ALL. I didn't really smell much until I tried to, and I mainly smelled the lavender oil. So that was a welcomed and pleasant surprise.
It's oil based, so it is a little oily on your finger when you use it, but that just means that oils, and the Vitamins A, C, and E are all absorbing into your nails, and those are great for nail health and moisturizing. You just want to make sure you wash your nails thoroughly before applying any polish so there's no oil residue left to mess up your manicure and/or pedicure.
The removal process is a little different than what you're used to with regular nail polish remover. First, you saturate a cotton round or cotton ball with the remover, wipe each nail first and let the remover absorb for like half a minute, then proceed to remove the polish. Honestly, I had my hesitations, because I was wearing Pagan, my favorite shade of polish, which is a blackened purple from Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics. I had my doubts, but honestly it came off clean and completely, and I ended up using less than I would've with my normal polish. I only needed two cotton rounds, and the color was completely off! This bottle is 4 oz and cost $11.50, which seems high, but not for how little you use. I can't wait to try it with a glitter polish! That's the real test. I'm going to include a photo of the ingredients below, taken from the Ella + Mila website.
Overall, 2 unpolished thumbs up from me!
