My 4 cats are my children, and I wouldn't give them up for the world. They're people I would literally drop to their deaths if it's a choice between saving them or any of my cats. I mean that whole heartedly. But, having 4 cats, even having 1 cat, is expensive. Litter, dry food, wet food, bowls, toys, treats, etc.. x4 really adds up. I'm all about saving money. That's why I can afford to shop the way I do. Coupons and sales are the key to being a savvy shopper. Where I fall short is physically shopping at stores. I don't keep count of what I'm spending. That's entirely too much math. I'm like.. "Do I have a coupon for this? I do. Okay, in the cart you go." And then usually I buy more than I need in the first place anyway (Target, I'm especially looking at you,) and when I see the bill I usually wintz in pain. That's why I much prefer to online shop. I know what I'm spending and there's no surprises at the end. But what does any of this have to do with my cats, you ask? One answer: Chewy.com 👍🏼 I've been seeing commercials for this website on TV a lot lately, and I decided to check them out. In case you're unfamiliar with them, they're a website to purchase all of your pet related products. Not just cats and dogs either, but all the pets. And mostly everything they sell (that I saw) is in bulk. They don't sell individual cans of cat foods, but 6+ can packs. They're basically a giant online only pet store version of BJ's. Shipping is free over $49 and it's fast. I ordered mine Monday night, and received it Wednesday. Super super fast. The free shipping I find super impressive, considering these packages can be extremely heavy. I ordered the light weight cat litter because I felt bad for the FedEx driver that would have to deliver it. Kevin told me I was the most considerate shopper ever lol. But cat litter is super heavy! The lightweight works just as well! I spent about $61, with free shipping, and got a 6 lb bag of crunchies, a 17 lb box of cat littler, 3 bags of cat treats, and a total of 54 cans of wet cat food. The wet cat food alone will last me 27 days, since they get two a day. I'll have to get probably one more bag of crunchies and one more litter before the month is up, but that's nothing. And since I wasn't just browsing at the store and saw things on sale that I would just buy without any necessity, I saved money right there alone. Tabby was thrilled! She loves all the foods lol.
I did comparing and contrasting on the prices to see which was cheaper. I only did research on what I was buying, so I can't speak for all items, but the cat food (wet and dry) and the litter was cheaper. The treats were a little cheaper on PetSmart's website, however, they were already on sale. So, that might not always be the case. But to be able to order all the same brands my cats like, avoid going to the store and crying over all the cats I want to adopt but can't, and not having to do all the heavy lifting to my car and from my car up the flight of steps to my apartment.. even if I had to pay a little more (which I didn't have to in this case but if I did), I absolutely would. Chewy is my new go to for cat stuff. Check it out for yourself! I'm sure your pets will thank you!
