I've been using some items from my Vegan Cuts Summer Beauty Box and I wanted to blog about them. So far, I blogged about the lipstick which, as it turns out, I love. I wear it pretty frequently. Pretty much every morning before I go to work I put it on. I don't reapply it throughout the day of course because I'm lazy, but I do use it and I do love it.
Also, I think I mentioned in the initial post how much I love the makeup bag that came with it, and how it's been my favorite thus far. That still stands true. I used it when I went to the beach and was able to fit all of my makeup and then some in it. It's sturdy and constructed very well. Plus like, there's no possible way you can't love the design. Starts and animal shaped constellations? Please. It's basically perfect.
wanted to talk about the Manna Kadar Primer for Eyes/Lips and the Pacifica's Rainbow Crystals Liquid Mineral Highlighter (say that five times fast.) Let's talk about the highlighter first.
I got Nebula which is a violet shimmer and it is really pretty. This is the color I requested in the Beauty Box quiz they send you before they start packaging boxes, so that was good. The application is like that of lip gloss, and when you apply it, you have to use your finger to rub it in, which in turn takes off most of the color. If you want more color, you'll have to apply it a second time in the same manner. Kind of a pain but it is liquid highlighter so you know what to expect. I'm truly impressed by how long it lasts though. I'm only using it on my eyelids and near my eyebrows for some pop of color, but it also doubles as a good eye shadow primer. It's there from when I apply it to when I take it off at night. It doesn't transfer off or anything, unless of course I'm rubbing my eye. It's not sticky or anything, it literally dries and feels like your skin. My only real complaint is the smell. It's pretty awful. Even my cat hates the smell of it, she sniffed it and make a weird face. It's kind of chemical smelling but also like they tried to use a scent to mask the chemical scent, if that makes any sense. It's not good. It doesn't deter me from using it, since the scent doesn't linger, I'm just surprised since Pacifica is always on point with their products. Overall, I do like it. I wouldn't have purchased it myself for $13 dollars, but it's pretty decent.
Now for the primer. I have mixed feelings on it. The consistency is that of cream concealer, you don't need a lot. I just use my ring finger, swirl a bit on there, and rub it all over my eyelids where I'm going to be applying eye shadow. It dries quickly, then I apply my eye shadow. I would NEVER use it on my lips as a primer, though it's marketed for both. I personally feel like they should offer different colors, since not all eyelids are the same color. According to their website, it doubles as a concealer and highlighter too. Concealer I can see, highlighter I can't because there's no shimmer pigmentation in it. But even still, a one shade concealer? It wouldn't work. It does greatly help to keep my eyeshadow on all day though, so it does what it's supposed to. Since you don't need a lot, I imagine it'll last me forever. But I would never pay $24 for it.
Neither have irritated my eyes so far either, so that's also a plus! I was concerned with my over sensitive eyes, but so far, so good.
All I have left to try is the Emani Eyeshadow Trio, which I'll use tomorrow. The colors look pretty so I'm sure I'll like them. The one is pretty dark, so I'm thinking I may use an eyeliner brush and wet it to make it eyeliner consistency. I'll post my review about it after!
PS: My blogging might become limited, as I finally started school back up July 5th. Between working full time, taking care of my home and family, and being the overachiever that I am, my free time is limited. But please bear with me, I'll keep posting even if it's not as much as usual. I've got two other posts I'm already working on! Thanks for your patience!
