Oh how I love Lush. It's because of their bath bombs, bubble bars and melts that I became a bath junkie. Today I'm going to review their bubble bar called The Comforter. Why did they call it The Comforter you ask? Lush created it to actual comfort people, just like, well, a comforter. This blackcurrant and cassis absolute scented bubble bar is pretty fabulous. A new favorite of mine, for sure. Here's the deets:
This bar gives you lots and lots of bubbles, and turns your water a beautiful shade of purple. Imagine like a berry colored tea, that's the color of the water. Each bar is supposed to give you two baths worth of bubbles and pretty purple colored water. I used my entire bar in one bath. I wasn't aware it could be used for two prior to using it. But, with the amount of bubbles this bar gave me, I can absolutely see being able to use it for two baths. There was so many bubbles. It was awesome. It started to bubble as soon as I dropped it in the tub.
I feel like the pictures just don't do the color justice; it really is a beautiful shade of purple. I loved it! Purple is my favorite color, and the purple tinted water just made me feel happy. And like I said, the bubbles were out of bounds. It was actually really "comforting" to be engulfed in all those bubbles. It was just like a blanket of bubbles!
As for the scent, it's just wonderful. It's not overpowering at all, in fact it's pretty subtle. But, it's so nice! Slightly fruity, and just calming. It smelled just like a sweet juicy berry. I'm a vanilla girl through and through, but this blackcurrant has become a real favorite of mine. I only wish the scent stayed on my skin longer!
While bubble bars aren't meant to be super moisturizing like the bath melts, my skin still felt pretty soft after this bath. With the bath melts, I can get out of the tub and not even need lotion. With this, I felt like I needed some. But, once I put my lotion on, my skin felt very healthy and smooth.
Seriously, that's not even half the bubbles, but I was nervous having my phone so close to the water. The bubbles ended up reaching the top of my tub! And the water got a bit darker than that too!
So, is this bubble bar really worthy of being called The Comforter? Absolutely! Work, plus moving, plus getting married in October and having absolutely nothing planned for it, has me pretty on edge. I'm stressed out every single day. After this bath, I felt so much more relaxed! And I really think it was a combination of the pretty water, the bubbles not just being like a blanket but the fact that I'm like a 5 year old and played with them while I was in the tub lol, and the scent. You can buy this online or in the store for $10.95. Considering you can use it for two baths, the price is fair. And also considering it helped me to feel cool, calm, and collected, the price is more than fair! Give it a try! I don't think you'll be disappointed!
