My 28th birthday was just Saturday, September 3rd. If you ask me though, I'm 23 again! 😹 Even as an adult, I still love my birthday as much as a little kid does. I started my day by heading to my Nana's for cake, which I couldn't eat, but still greatly appreciated! It's nice having people sing happy birthday to you, even when you're old! I think it's so sweet that my family gets me a cake, and does all of that! Here's a photo of the cake they got me, and one of my dad, my baby sister, and myself at my Nana's: After that, if we're being honest, I came home and napped before dinner! Living life like a true old lady! 👵🏼 My husband and I went to Vedge, now for our second time, for my birthday dinner. As much as I love this place, I'm not super impressed by the entree options at Vedge. Please don't get me wrong, they are super fancy, and not something you'll get at other places. But, I have a boring and plain palette, so I like it simple. Their pretzel loaf and "fondue" is delicious. My husband, who hates faux cheese in any capacity, actually enjoyed the fondue. And the pretzel loaf, like if they could give me about 50 loaves to take home, I would. It's just so delicious! We also got the fingerling potatoes, which were a big hit for us last time. Seriously though, can you ever go wrong with potatoes?! I decided to skip on the entire, and just have a carboload for food. I mean, it's my birthday and I'll eat what I want to! I also enjoyed a glass of wine that I wish I would've bought a bottle of, even though the bottle would've probably been $593724 dollars. I took this fun photo of the light reflecting onto my nail from my wine and it looks like my nail is glowing! I just thought it looked super cool. Lastly, I got cheesecake! I love their cheesecake so much! I loved regular cheesecake when I could eat it, I couldn't get enough of it. So, any substitute I will take. They even put a candle in it for me! Fun story: the guy at the table next to us was celebrating his birthday as well, and another guy a few tables across was as well! September 3rd FTW! After this, I went to Lush and treated myself to two of my favorites! I've literally never bought the full size of Lush's Sympathy for the Skin, despite my obsession with it. The price is crazy expensive. Truthfully, it's a large container and a little goes a long way, plus the ingredients are pure, so the price is fair. But at almost $28 a container, it is definitely a special occasion splurge. Also, I got my favorite Vanillary perfume, since I literally ran out before we went to dinner. After that, we were on our way home. Originally, I had planned a PJ Birthday Party for myself. Two of my favorite people had told me last minute they couldn't come and I was so bummed out. So I was kinda cranky pants. As I was walking up to our door, I was really confused by the amount of smoke I saw by our front door. But, I had to pee so bad I could barely hold it and I just wanted Kevin to unlock the door so I could pee. When I walk in, to my surprise, my friends were already there, including the ones who said they couldn't make it! They had a fog machine, and my candles lit, my sister made a pumpkin and bat banner that said "HAPPY BIRTHDAY ASH" and she even made me homemade vegan pumpkin spiced cupcakes! They got me beer and wine, which I didn't drink because I'm a lightweight lol. After I was able to pee and take it all in, I was really excited! It was all a rouse from the gate to surprise me! I was so grateful they did that for me. It really made my 28th birthday special! While I may not have been in the best mood on my birthday, it ended up being a good time thanks to some wonderful people. Happy birthday to me!
