Lunatick Cosmetic Labs is a company that's been on my list for literally ever. This is a small alternative brand based out of Milwaukee, WI. They are 100% cruelty free and vegan, and are perfect for spooky babes like me! The designs of their products are coffins and planchettes with bats and moons, and they have spooky names. They reached 100k likes on their Instagram page and offered a 25% discount on all products to celebrate! So, I decided it was time to treat myself!
You'll see in the photo above, this is the box they ship their products in. I love the black and white Beetlejuice Tim Burton-esque design of the box! I was even more excited to open it!
Wrapped in a bunch of layers of black tissue paper (bonus: I reuse all tissue paper I get, and I ran out of black!), and sprinkled with fun colorful confetti, lays my Supernatural eye shadow palette. Like how cute and festive is that?! I seriously loved the confetti. It's so simple but it added such a nice, fun, and festive touch!
Do you love the design of this palette or do you love the design of this palette? It's built really nicely too. It's a sturdy cardboard, and it has a magnetic closure. The magnetic closure is very secure. It won't just go flying open on you.
The designs on the inside are so amazing! I love the card reader and the crystal ball, and the two headed cat, the moons, and the planchette! Their designs are very vintage and old school ghost movie spooky. The colors on the packaging are colorful and fun and really stand out. I am obsessed with the bat shaped mirror! I'm not even kidding, the packaging sold me before anything else lol. I know that the one color is cracked, and the color next to it is chipped around the edge. I'm going to talk about the color first, then I'll get into that.
I've swatched the colors for you in three different lights in my apartment. None of them do justice to the color, like at all. Here they are:
The top swatch is my dining room light, the middle is my bathroom light, and the bottom is my bedroom light. From left to right is: Invocation, Myth, Spook, Reincarnation, and Ghoulight. This is also the same order they are in from left to right in the palette itself. The colors are seriously SO pretty. And honestly, really versatile. They're not your average nudes and neutrals, but they really do go with pretty much anything you wear. You wouldn't think it with these kind of shades, but it's an updated twist on your classic neutral eye.
Invocation is a shimmery champagne color. Myth is a matte very light neutral pink. Spooky is a slightly shimmery maroon. It's not nearly as shimmery as Invocation. Reincarnation is a matte light cocoa purple. And lastly, Ghoulight is a darker version of Reincarnation, it's a little more purple than Reincarnation though. There's not one shade I don't like. The colors apply very easily, and they are highly pigmented. A little goes a long way. These shadows are velvety smooth. The staying power is also pretty awesome. I wore it on Christmas Eve all day and night and it held up wonderfully. That's with no primer. I didn't really get any photos of my eyes themselves, but I was so stoked to receive this palette that I wore my Minnie Mouse shirt that's like an identical shade of maroon to Spook so I would match lol. I am wearing my eye shadows in the photo below but you can't really tell.
Okay, now let's talk about this broken eye shadow. These eye shadows are SUPER soft. I was actually kind of surprised that the palette wasn't wrapped in bubble wrap. Granted, they used a lot of tissue paper, but still. As soon as I turned over the palette, this happened...
BUMMERSAURUSREX! I know I could press it, but you don't spend good money on quality eye shadows just to re-press it right? It was Christmas Eve when I received it, so I sent them an email not expecting a response anytime soon because of the holiday. I posted it on Instagram because I was sad, but I had faith that Lunatick Cosmetics would replace my palette or issue me a refund after the holidays. I wasn't all that concerned. They commented on my photo saying that they would replace or refund, whichever I preferred, and that they would make up for this also considering this is my first order from them. I also received an email on Christmas Eve at 1:27pm apologizing and included a new tracking number for a new palette being sent out Saturday. I was so surprised to receive an email on Christmas Eve. That's pretty unheard of! I come home today to find a new palette waiting for me! I found out they even sent it express 2 day shipping, which was a nice surprise. I guess my only issue is, what if I had decided on a refund instead? I probably really didn't need a whole new palette, I was just being a cry baby on Christmas Eve lol. They mentioned on my Instagram that being an option, but that option wasn't presented to me. Also, they said that they would make up for this error considering it was my first order, but I didn't see anything relating to that in the box, not like a letter or anything. I'm not looking for a handout or free stuff or anything. This isn't their fault. They're not the post office, and it's not like they had any control of how it was handled after they shipped it. But considering they said something about making up for it, I just anticipated seeing something. I don't know what, but something. Overall, I'm happy with their customer service, and I will absolutely be ordering from them again.
As far as the price, this palette retails for $35. I would say totally worth the price for the amazing packaging containing 5 high quality, good color payoff, and long lasting eye shadows. They offer other products that you should definitely check out! You can also build your own custom palette if this or Hocus Pocus isn't your thing!
I hope you all had a wonderful holiday! I am stoked that Christmas is over. It's my least favorite holiday of the whole year. Despite that, I had a great time with my husband and my family, even though we were crazy busy running around! Tis the season though right?
I am super excited to be reviewing more Pacifica products for you because you know how much I love Pacifica. Today I'm going to be reviewing one of their new scents, Sugared Amber Dreams, in a few different forms: roller-on perfume, body butter, and hand lotion.
Pacifica had 20% off your entire purchase AND free shipping. It was the perfect time to try this scent out that's been on my radar since it came out. The body butter and hand cream duo retail for $20, and the roller-on perfume is $12. With the sale, I got the duo for $16 and the roll-on for $9.60 and free shipping making my total $25.60! Yay!
The first thing I noticed about this, before even opening anything, was how awesome the packaging is. You could easily gift these without wrapping them or anything. They always have such pretty designs for their packaging, and I know it's superficial, but it's a really nice touch. The unicorns and rainbows are so fun and so adorable!
Let's start with the roll-on perfume.
I love that the unicorn design is on the roll-on perfume bottle as well as the box. How cute?! Anyway, I absolutely LOVE this scent. It is amazing! It reminds me of their Island Vanilla perfume, but sweeter. I can smell sugar and vanilla primarily, the amber comes through in the middle, and it has a slightly woody undertone to it as well, which balances nicely with the sweet top notes. Island Vanilla was my favorite scent by Pacifica until now, this one definitely takes the cake!
As for the roll-on itself, it's great for spot applications, like those pulse points, to really bring out the scent on your skin. I use it on my neck, my clavicle, my decolletage, between my cleavage, behind my earlobes, my wrists, and the inner arm cream of my elbows. The scent does last for awhile, but nowhere near as long as I wish it did. I love the scent so much I just want to smell it all day long! Overall, the longevity of it is good though.
Now for the body butter.
I have used Pacifica's body butter before in different scents, and like the others, it doesn't disappoint. Their body butter is so rich and luxurious, my skin is soft and smooth all day and night. I usually shower at night and apply it fresh out of the shower, and my skin is still soft when I come home from work the next day. The combination of shea and mango butters really do wonders for your skin. It also includes jojoba oil, kuikui nut oil, vitamin E, macadamia nut, and rose hip seed oil in addition to the shea, mango, and cocoa butters, and you have a winning combination of good for your skin ingredients. I use all over, except for my face. When you layer this with the roll-on perfume, the scent lasts longer than either do on their own.
Lastly, the hand lotion.
Like with the body butter, I have also uses Pacifica's hand cream before but in the Island Vanilla scent. I loved that one, and I love this one. It's not as thick as the body butter, but it's still pretty thick. This hand cream contains a moisturizing blend of safflower oil, shea butter, and almond oil. Even with how dry and cracked my hands can get, this stuff has never burned or cause any discomfort. It leaves my hands super smooth and also makes them smell delicious! It's the perfect size to keep in your bag, or in your drawer at work. My only issue is that I blew through this tube when I had the Island Vanilla pretty fast. I kept it at work and used it every time I washed my hands (which to be fair is a lot), and it was gone in like 2-3 weeks! I slightly prefer the body butter to this, but I really do like this hand lotion as well.
Overall, I highly recommend all 3 of these products! I'm even debating on getting the full size spray perfume of this because I love the scent so much! Ulta sells this scent and other Pacfica products in store, so if you have an Ulta close by you, you can get this in store without having to wait for shipping! They always have coupons too, like $3.50 off $10 or 20% off an item, or your entire purchase. Find yourself a coupon, and get to shopping!
Christmas came early for us Petit Vour subscribers! This months box included 4 pretty awesome goodies I'm excited to tell you guys about. So, here they are..
TADAAAAAA! I thought it would be fun to take a photo of them in my itty bitty purple Christmas tree lol. This box included: Zabana Essentials Glow Stick in Bare Beauty (full size, $10 value), Kani Botanicals Petal Plush Rose Face Mask (deluxe sample size, $10), Mai Couture Highlighter Papier in St. Barts and Blush Papier in Sunset Blvd.(2 sheets of each, $6 value), and Blissoma Scentless Stick Solid Natural Deodorant (deluxe sample size, $9).
First up, Zabana Essentials Glow Stick..
The color of this stick is like a neutral yellowish shade with very subtle shimmer. I'll take a photo of it in the natural sunlight because I couldn't get a good picture of it with my awful lighting in my apartment. A few months ago I received a tube of Jersey Shore Cosmetics Highlighter in one of my beauty boxes that I wasn't really a fan of. It was hard to spread and didn't absorb well and just kind of sat on top of my skin. So, I have higher hopes for this one. I like that it's wide, so I can apply it on my body. I don't know if I'll use it on my face, but I can imagine it'll be really nice for a pop of shimmer on my neck etc.. in the warmer months, and even in the cooler months when you want a little shine! The scent is orangey lemon. It's really a pleasant scent because it's not too overpowering. It's subtle but it says beach, without the coconut. They say you can use it as a lip tint, but clearly you wouldn't use it as a lip tint one day and then on your face and/or body the next. This is the full size product this month, which is exciting!
Next up, Kani Botanicals Petal Plush Rose Face Mask..
I know this is completely unrelated to how the product is, but I just love the black and white rose design on the back of this packet. Isn't it so pretty?! This mask/scrub couldn't have come at a better time because my face has been going crazy lately! It's greasy and breaking out, and yet I still have flakes all over. This mask, despite all of the oils, is actually good for oily acne prone skin because it gently exfoliates while replenishing your skin's natural oils so your face doesn't have to overcompensate by producing more oils. I am really excited to try this one! The full size is 4.5 oz and it retails for $28, and you can find it on their website!
Next up, the Mai Couture Highlighter and Blush Papiers..
I am so in love with these papiers. They're so fancy, and so convenient, and so much more pigmented than I thought they would be. I used them today, but I plan on using them again tomorrow so I can take photos. I was too rushed this morning to take pictures. The fact that you can use a blotter to absorb oil, then apply color, all in one product with no brushes is brilliant! The full size of the highlighter (which comes in another shade) is $28 for 50 sheets, and the blush (which comes in several shades) is $17.50 for 50 sheets.
Lastly, the Blissoma deodorant..
I am so excited for this because when my husband and I go to Disney, I'm going to need deodorant and considering that everything is restricted that you bring on a plane, this will be perfect! There really is no scent at all, which is spot on as to what they described. I love the all natural ingredients. And, I love that a lot of them are organic. I am forever looking for new and good vegan deodorants to try and I didn't even know Blissoma made one! Super exciting!
Overall, I think this was a pretty good box. The total value of this box is $35, so again you got your moneys worth, like you always do! I'll be working on reviews for products from this box and some other awesome products so keep your eyes peeled for some new posts after the holiday.
I hope you all have a wonderful, happy, and healthy holiday!
Tis the season for whip on everything. Pies, cakes, cookies, pastries, with a spoon; you name it. Maybe you're a vegan, maybe you're looking for something more natural, or maybe you just want to step your whip game up. Enter: CocoWhip by So Delicious. This topping is an excellent replacement for Cool Whip. Below is the ingredients list, and the nutrition facts:
What you need to know is that coconut is a fattening food, and it's got a high calorie content. So it's not like eating CocoWhip is better for you in the fact that you can eat the whole tub and not gain as much weight as if you ate a tub of Cool Whip. But, the ingredients are better and more natural in the CocoWhip than Cool Whip, which is chock full of high fructose corn syrup and sugars.
I also want to mention, if you ever buy this or any other frozen product from So Delicious, how to understand their expiration date system. Their refrigerated products are all regular, with a day, a month, and a year. How their frozen products work are they use something called the Julian calendar. It's extremely confusing at first, and weird in my opinion, but my husband works with produce and he says they use it all the time. If you look at the bottom photo you see above, you see the numbers "15189" and those are the numbers you want to look at. That means on the 189th day of the year 2015, this CocoWhip was made. In this case, July 8th, 2015. So Delicious's frozen products have a shelf life of 2 years if stored properly. This CocoWhip is stored frozen, then when you're ready to use it you let it thaw for 4 hours in the fridge, and you have up to 10 days to consume it. If you can make a tub of CocoWhip last 10 days, you're a better person than I am.
This stuff, like the name says, is SO DELICIOUS! The texture is just like that of Cool Whip. It's a tub of fluffy goodness. You can use this in any recipe you would use Cool Whip. What you should know is that, obviously, it tastes like coconut. It's basically like whipped coconut milk. Personally, I think that makes it taste better than Cool Whip. It's not overbearing or too much, it's just right. I don't think that it's too coconutty that if you used it in a recipe that it would take away from any other flavor. I remember Cool Whip was super sweet, sometimes too sweet. And this stuff just has a subtle sweetness to it. Coconut is subtly sweet in general. This stuff also tastes real, because it's made with real natural ingredients!
I mixed it this morning into my berry bowl as part of my breakfast, and it was just so so good. I was half tempted to put it on my toast just so I could have more! Then tonight, I took a spoon and just ate some more out of the tub lol. You could spread this on a flip flop and that flip flop would taste good.
I absolutely recommend this stuff. I have no idea how much it costs because I saw it and just bought it because it looked so good. And it's worth every penny, however many pennies it costs.
I was pretty jazzed up to see this as one of the $10 items listed on 100% Pure's website for Cyber Monday. It was such a great price and a great opportunity to try out their makeup. Originally, this blush costs $35! So, to get it for $25 less than that?! Only a crazy person would say no!
Let's start with the ingredients!
I'm truly amazed at how natural their ingredients are. Not just for this but for all of their products. I mean, I guess with a name like 100% Pure you've got a lot to live up to in that area, but seriously, these ingredients are so clean! I absolutely love seeing ingredients like cherry, strawberry, raspberry, and cranberry extract instead of fake FD&C junk. I was also happy to see no perfumes! This blush doesn't have any scent at all. I would think that even those with the more sensitive skin could use this and not have any reactions. I have pretty sensitive skin and I haven't had any issues from it!
Next up, the packaging.
The blush comes in a tin which comes in the cardboard packaging in the first and second photo I posted. The tin is a pretty yet subtle shade of pink. I love the intricate and feminine design on the tin. I think it really adds flair to it. Like, this is the kind of makeup you want to display on your vanity, not hide it away in some makeup bag. I also like that it's a tin, and not just another plastic container. It's actually surprisingly lightweight too. This is easily my favorite makeup container that I own!
Next up, the color.
I was having the hardest time trying to get a photo that accurately displays the color of this blush. The photo above on your left definitely doesn't, but the one on your right with my blush brush is pretty close. It's darker than what it looks on 100% Pure's website, which I'm thankful for. I was very hesitant when I ordered this because the color looked so light, and I was doubtful that it would even show up on my face. But I figured for $10, why not try it? If I didn't like it I would only be out $10. The color is a true pink. But it's surprisingly natural looking on your skin.
I took a photo with natural and artificial light so you could see the blush both ways.
As you can see, as expected, the blush is definitely a little light for my skin. But, the plus side is that this blush is buildable without looking cakey or fake. It's really pigmented, and it goes on so silky smooth on your skin. The application is a dream! I have been using it for over a week now, and I just apply a few layers and it provides a natural looking blush. It's definitely more natural looking than my Too Faced blush. I prefer a more bold blush myself, but I really do like this. They offer darker shades and if one of them ever go on sale, I'll definitely be trying them. They have so many shades, I think there's one to compliment every skin tone.
I know that $35 is a lot for blush, trust me. I'm poor, so I get it. But you really do get what you pay for. High quality no fuss real natural ingredients. And, this blush is .32oz/ 9 g. so it is decently sized. Lastly, shipping is free and there's a 100% money back guarantee. I recommend this, and every other product I've tried from 100% Pure. If you're looking for truly clean cosmetics, look no further than them!
I had been looking for a face cleansing brush for awhile before trying this one out. I used the Konjac sponge before that I purchase from Target and I liked it but I feel like it didn't exfoliate my face enough. This time of year, most people suffer from dry skin because of the drier and colder weather, and exfoliation is the key to not only making your makeup application look better, but also by removing all that dead skin so fresh skin can surface.
Here's my thoughts on this brush...
1) It's so soft and gentle. It's not abrasive at all. My face isn't red, irritated, or raw after using it. It's so gentle that you can even use it around your delicate eye area, while being cautious not to get it in your eyes, of course.
2) It's made with antibacterial synthetic fibers, so you can feel confident that it's clean with each use.
3) The wood handle is sturdy, and it's shaped in a way that makes it easy for your hand to hold while using it.
4) It has a string attached on the end of it so you can hang it up after using it to allow it to air dry. I have a hook I was using for my loofah before I got my shower cady that I hang mine on now. It's perfect because any water that drips from the brush goes right into the bathtub, so there's no clean up. And, I have my hook out of reach from the shower head so that if my husband is showering, he won't get the brush wet.
5) This brush is very dense, and there hasn't been any fall out of the fibers since I've been using it, so I assume it will hold up well. I have seen other reviews that people had a bunch of bristles fall out or even that the whole brush itself fell out. I think, like most items, you get a few bad eggs in a batch. Nothing's perfect, ya know? So far for mine, I haven't had any problems.
6) It provides a *GENTLE* exfoliation. So, if you're someone like me that likes to exfoliate but has to be careful with what you use on your face, you will like this. I can feel that it exfoliates my face because my face is really soft and smooth after using it. It doesn't provide an extreme exfoliation, so if that's what you're looking for, you might want to look for a different brush.
7) Using this makes my face feel cleaner than just using hands alone. I just use small circular motions around my face, and that's all it takes to notice a difference! Plus, it's like a mini face massage each time I use it, so that's pretty awesome.
8) You only need a drop of face wash when washing your face because this brush really lathers and foams your wash so well. This will in turn make your face wash last longer, which is an added bonus! I took some pictures so you could see:
My only real complaint is that because this brush lathers so well, it's hard to get all of your face wash out of the brush when you're done washing your face. I guess that's not a huge deal considering you're only going to put more face wash on the brush next time you use it, but I felt it worth mentioning. And, because the brush is so dense, it holds a lot of water. I squeeze it out gently after each use before I hang it up to dry, but it takes me a 2-3 squeeze just so that it's not dripping wet.
Overall, I think it was an awesome purchase for $10. I can't say that I would purchase this, or any face brush, for $21 which is its original price because I think that's a bit high. But it you can manage to snag this on sale, I would recommend it. 100% Pure does Daily Deals where they offer something each day for $15, so if you see it in there, definitely pick it up.
Happy Saturday everyone!
In my last post, I told you guys about 100% Pure and what their company is all about, so this post is going to be a review about their Coconut Nourishing Body Cream, and I am THRILLED to review this one for you!
BUT, before we get into the deets about it, I just want to get slightly off track and mention how much I love my Bambi leggings by Lauren Conrad that I'm wearing in the picture above! Every so often she does a Disney collection available at Kohls. She's done Cinderella and Minnie Mouse, and the latest one is Bambi, which so far has been my favorite! The entire collection is beyond adorable and I think you should check it out! You'll be happy you did! Like, I literally own more than half the collection, and whatever I don't own is on my Christmas List for my husband lol. So definitely check it out!
Okay, back on track...
One of my must haves in my beauty routine is good lotion. Lotion, like lip balm, is a product that I have to have with me at all times. I recently ran out of my Jason's Cocoa Butter, and have been using the rest of my other ones that I don't particularly love. I wanted to wait to purchase a new lotion because I wanted to switch it up and try something new, but I just didn't know what to try! Along comes the Cyber Monday sale and when I saw this was part of their $10 deal, it felt meant to be for me to buy it.
let's aFirst, let's talk ingredients. Before I ordered, like I do with everything, even though I knew it was vegan, I checked out the ingredients. Don't be alarmed by the long list of ingredients! Because 100% Pure uses only food grade natural ingredients and no preservatives, they use naturally derived ingredients to ensure the quality of their products. When you actually sit and read the label, you can see that it's all ingredients that you know and are safe! My biggest concern was the fact that it contained alcohol, and with my super dry hands and the microscopic cracks they get, I was afraid it would burn them. So I was cautious when I first applied it, but it didn't sting or burn whatsoever!
Next, let's talk about the scent. This stuff smells absolutely FANTASTIC! Like, it's the best smelling lotion ever. It doesn't smell like traditional coconut, or coconut oil, it smells like a Toasted Coconut Macaroon. I have no clue how they get it to smell like that without any perfumes, but they do, and it is wonderful. No joke, after applying this I smell like I belong on a dessert table lol. The scent isn't overbearing though, despite that. And, it actually lingers on your skin for a decent amount of time which is such a bonus for me! They have shower gel, body butter, body scrub, hand cream, and soap all in this scent, so I can only imagine the smell would last even longer if you layered them!
Also, let's talk about how well it works. Let me show you a before and after photo of my hands the first time I used it. Here's before:
As you can see, my hands are dry and cracked and seriously in need of some TLC.
Here's how much I used when I applied it to my hands:
I actually ended up using too much and had to wipe the extra on my legs. A little actually goes a long way with this lotion.
Here's after I used the lotion:
Voila! Beautiful and soft! And the moisture locks in your skin and stays for awhile! I applied it all over my body once I got out of the shower and it's now 10pm and my skin still feels so soft! It absorbs quickly and there is no greasy residue left behind, just soft skin. The texture of this lotion kind of reminds me of buttercream icing, which paired with the smell, gives me a sweet tooth when I use it lol. It's rich and creamy, but it's not super thick or super thin, it's just the right consistency.
BONUS: It's multi-purposeful too! If your hair gets a little dry this time of year, you can use a drop and rub it between your hands to smooth frizz and make your hair smell great too! You can do this on wet or dry hair!
DOUBLE BONUS: I have sensitive skin, and this did not irritate my skin at all. I wasn't itchy or red and blotchy or nothing. It was smooth sailing all over!
This is absolutely one of my favorite lotions that I've ever used, which says a lot coming from a lotion connoisseur like myself. I really can't say enough good things about it. As far as cons, there really is none. My only complaint, if any, would be that this bottle regularly cost $19, which I think is a bit much for me to afford considering how often I use lotion, I don't think it would be cost effective despite the fact that a little goes a long way. Don't get me wrong, it's worth that price. You're paying for top notch high quality ingredients. Regular basic water isn't even an ingredient, the only water is rose flower water. So it's not like you're paying $19 for mainly water and a few other things. You're paying $19 for legit ingredients. It's a fair deal.
Definitely check out this stuff, and the rest of 100% Pure's product. If coconut isn't your thing, they have other scents you can try, like vanilla bean which I have my eye on next! Their other scents include: Pink Grapefruit, Blood Orange, Mangosteen, French Lavender, and a few others!
100% Pure is one of those companies I've had my eye on forever but their products are a little out of my price range. Their products truly are 100% pure and 100% cruelty free. Everything they use is food grade; no chemicals, additives, or harsh detergents. Their makeup is all fruit dyed and contain no artificial colors whatsoever. These are products you can feel good about putting on your skin. The only downside is that they're not fully vegan, but the only non-vegan ingredient they use is cruelty free honey. However, I would say that about 90% of their products are vegan.
Along comes Cyber Monday, and they had a sale where they offered some products for $10 each! I was so thrilled! I placed two orders actually, because later on Monday night they added a few more $10 products. Here's what I got in my first order:
Every one of these items were $10! The Facial Cleansing Brush (originally $21), Vitamin C Serum (originally $38), and Coconut Nourishing Body Cream (originally $19). That's $78 worth of products that I only paid $30 for! I saved $48, over half of what I would've paid for full price! Also, they include 3 free samples with every order, as you can see in the second photo which is also super exciting. And the best part of all of this? EVERY ORDER SHIPS FREE! There's no minimum, no special code, nothing like that. You get 100% satisfaction guaranteed, if not, they offer 100% free returns. This company is 100% awesome!
Here's my second order from them:
They had their blush in Chiffon on sale for $10, and the color seems universally flattering on everyone, and for that price, you can't go wrong! This blush regularly costs $35.
I am so thrilled to use these and review them for you. I already used the lotion! So keep your eyes open for those posts coming up soon! In the meantime, go check out their website and browse their products. They have anti-aging products, which I know my mom will love, makeup, body care, skincare, hair care, nail polish, and even baby care! I guarantee you can find something for everyone in your family!
Before I get into the review, I first want to say something about Harvey Prince. I commented on their photo on Instagram about ordering their new fragrance to try, and I briefly mentioned how I couldn't wait to review it on my blog, and they commented that they would check out my blog. I took it with a grain of salt, thinking I'm just some random girl writing a blog like a million other people do, and I didn't even think they would. Today, they commented on their Instagram photo telling me to check their Facebook page, and this is what I see:
I was so excited and so honored that not only did they check out my blog, but they even posted about one of my posts on their Facebook page! I can't even believe it! That's the first and only time that's ever happened, and it made me feel like people actually care about my blog and care what I have to say about products. So, it made me pretty happy!
Okay, now that I got my fan girl out, let's talk perfume!
Bailando is the newest scent by Harvey Prince. They offered an awesome deal to get this mini roller ball for free, just pay $6.50 shipping. Sign me up! You're getting a decent amount of perfume, with high quality ingredients, to try all for $6.50! So say you don't end up liking it? You can easily give it to someone else, and not feel bad about only spending $6.50 on it! Fortunately, I absolutely love this scent, so $6.50 very well spent!
Here's the description of Bailando, taken directly from Harvey Prince's website:
"Fresh Spanish mandarin softly blends with exotic Japanese Orange Flower, dewy Moroccan rose, and alluring Indian jasmine on your skin.Warm Madagascar vanilla and clean musk melodiously whirl with deep Australian sandalwood and dry woods in each soothing whiff."
The mandarin and Japanese orange flower blends SO amazingly well with the vanilla and sandalwood, although I get notes of everything. It all blends together so amazingly well. I literally can't stop applying it since I got it in the mail. It's got a sweet and sexy smell, with a bit of spice, and it's definitely a scent for those in their 20s to those in their 70s and everyone in between. It's romantic, and it's saucy, it's fun and it's flirty. It exudes confidence. You wear it and you hold your head up a little higher as you walk.
One of the things I love about this and all of their perfumes is that it's not so strong that you walk into a room and everyone chokes on your perfume. It's strong enough that if you're in close proximity of someone, they can smell your scent. You want to make your own statement when you come into a room, not have your perfume make the statement for you. This perfume is you, just sexier!

One of my favorite things about food shopping (really my only favorite thing about food shopping because food shopping sucks) is when I see the "NEW ITEM" sticker and that new items turns out to be vegan. I stumbled upon Chia Pod Chia Seed Puddings the last time I went shopping. They make these in a variety of flavors, but my food store only had Vanilla Bean, Mango, and Banana. Vanilla is my go to for everything, so I decided to try that one.
Each pod comes with a spoon attached underneath the lid. My OCD complaint is anyone can take off the lid and touch the spoon with their dirty little fingers, so I didn't use it. I appreciate the thought though. The pudding itself is sealed, thankfully.
If you don't have OCD, you can just grab the Chia Pod and go for an on the go, ready to eat, nutritious snack.
The ingredients are simple and real: Chia Seed Gel (Filtered Water, Chia Seed), Coconut Milk, Vanilla Bean Paste, Cinnamon. No fancy fake stuff here! All Chia Pods preservative and additive free. They're also gluten free. And, they use cold processing to ensure full nutrition.
Chia seeds provide a decent amount of fiber and and omega-3. You can eat chia seeds raw or put them in water where they create a gel like substance around the seed. You can try them in: smoothies, juices, teas, water, oatmeal, applesauce, yogurt, baked goods, etc... They're a great add in to incorporate in your every day diet. In addition to fiber and omega-3, they packed with a lot of other nutrients, antioxidants, and protein.
I have tried on several occasions, including with this pudding, to enjoy chia seeds in liquid products. The texture of the gel is too much for me. I imagine that the texture is similar to eating slimy fish eggs or something gross, and I just can't get passed it. I have also put them in water before and wasted my water because I was grossed out. If you try to chew them, they kind of pop between your teeth and that really gets me. If you just swallow them, it might be easier to manage, which perhaps I'll try next.
The flavor of this pudding wasn't bad. In fact, I actually enjoyed it. Chia seeds don't necessarily have a taste. So, all I tasted was coconut milk with vanilla and a hint of cinnamon. If you can get passed the texture, definitely give this pudding a shot. They make a variety of flavors, more than the ones I saw at my store. However, they're a little pricey. I think this was like $3. If you can afford that, then maybe purchase a few and split them up throughout the week.
How do you guys feel about chia seeds? Have you ever made your own chia seed pudding?
