REVIEW: TUTTI FRUTTI COLLECTION BY TOO FACED AND LIQUID LASH EXTENSIONS MASCARA BY THRIVE CAUSEMETICS!
Because August has been bananas (you'll appreciate the reference shortly), I have some products to review and I'm going to do them in one post. I want to make sure that I get a few posts in before the months over, including my favorite things post! Let's chat about some beauty products, shall we?
First, I want to talk about Too Faced's new adorable Tutti Fruitti collection. Not all products are vegan, but they do a great job updating their vegan FAQs on their website, especially when they do a new launch. Additionally, they've started to list, on the products page, if they're vegan, which makes life a lot easier while shopping.
I'm going to start with It's Bananas, brightening setting powder.
So, I tried to get pictures, but because it's a setting powder, it's pretty translucent (on my skin tone at least), so I could't get photos but I figured I'd write my opinion on it. The design is adorable. Let's start with that.
Look at these cute little bananas! It's almost too cute to use. It's supposed to smell like banana cream, I don't smell banana cream at all. It smells sweet, but no banana, and banana is a very distinct smell. The scent doesn't last at all, so it's a moot point but I always like to mention it, because I'm sensitive to scents and I know other people are too.
True story, they say this can highlight areas; I disagree. It's more of a setting powder, and for me, it's pretty matte. They also says it can flatter golden undertone skin (which I don't have, I'm neutral), and neutralize redness on very fair skin (also don't have that), so I can't comment on either of those. What I can say is that it's adorable, and I feel it does a decent enough job at setting my face. I use my mermaid powder brush and just brush it all over. I'm sure if I put some effort forth and decided to use the yellow to try to even out redness in particular areas, it may make a small difference. Either way, I like the purchase. This retails for $30, and I ordered it from Too Faced's website.
My next reviews are two in one kind of, so follow along. I'm going to talk about the Too Faced blush and Thrive Causemetics mascara. Here's some photos to start off with:
I'm going to start with the Liquid Lash Extensions Mascara by Thrive Causemetics, which is FABULOUS! Can we take a second to appreciate the Defining Comb Brush? Because we need to. I absolutely LOVE brushes like that for my mascara. I have a lot of lashes, and plush brushes really don't work well with them. This thin, comb like brush is where it's at. Additionally, this mascara tube itself is heavy enough to be a weapon, so I suggest taking it with you wherever you go, because I felt like I was lifting weights applying it lol. I have no clue why it's so heavy, but it shows that this is not cheaply made, which is a good thing, because it's not cheap. It's $24 a tube, and I will spend $24 every time I need it, because dare I say, I have found my Holy Grail mascara. Here's some photos. All with only one coat:
Not only does this stuff last all day and all night (I wore it from like 8:30am until near 12am with no flaking), but it's black as black can be, and really makes my eyes pop. It also holds a curl really well. It does take some work to get off, but that just means it's quality mascara. I love it, and couldn't recommend it enough!
Let's talk about Fruit Cocktails blush in StrobeBerry.
There are 4 shades, and all but 1 are vegan; the only one that isn't is Plumagranate. What I love about this blush is that it's buildable, highly pigmented, and adds highlighter to my blush all in one swipe. You can use use the blush, just the highlighter, or both. Don't let the bright color alarm you; I mean it when I say it's incredibly buildable. You can use a little or a lot. This was also $30, smells like strawberries, and worth every penny!
All 3 products get thumbs up from me! Check them out! I even got a super cute Tutti Fruitti makeup bag with my purchase! I don't know if they're still doing it, but even if they aren't, there's tons of cute stuff to check out. Also, they're having a summer sale right now! Don't forget to check out the sale items!
Because I like to stay up to date on brands, and I've had readers ask me about Yankee Candle's policies because it's almost the most wonderful time of the year and we need ALL the fall scented candles... here's an update I received today from Yankee Candle's Customer Service:
There you have it!
Unrelated: I have been an incredible amount of busy this month. But, I have a post I'm really excited to do called "Vegan in Disney World" that I plan on working on this weekend, plus my favorite things from August! Keep an eye out!
