I know I've mentioned before, it doesn't matter the season, my hands get dry and cracked and flaky. Between all of my hand washing, my eczema, hand sanitizing, and just the general fact that I use my hands all day long between work and home, my hands get beat. I use more lotion than any one person could ever need, but still, nothing is never enough. So, just like using a face scrub or a body scrub, your hands need scrubs too!
My most favorite scrub I've used is the Eco by Sonya Drive Pink Himalayan Salt Scrub. It has a refreshing smell, and it does a really great job exfoliating while still managing to moisturize. One of my most favorite moisturizers is Lush's Sympathy for the Skin. At first I didn't love the smell, but I quickly grew to love the smell. It sinks into your skin so well, and your skin feels truly hydrated using this product. Together, these products are just amazing!
First thing I did was take about a quarter sized amount of scrub and really scrubbed my entire hands, between my fingers, and around my cuticles. Because my hands were clearly a mess, I wasn't able to take a picture of this part, but you get the idea. I did this for about one minute. Then I rinsed my hands and then washed them using just a little bit of soap. Then, I dried my hands using a towel. Lastly, I massaged a generous amount of lotion all over my hands. It's a pretty simple and quick process that anyone can do! Here's my results:
As you can see my skin looks smooth, moisturized, and healthy. I suggest doing this at least once a week. Personally, hands are one of the first things I notice about people. If they're dirty and not well kept, that's a total turn off. I do this usually twice a week myself, and I'll probably do it more as it gets colder out. You can purchase the Salt Scrub online at Ecotan's website (make sure you choose the right country!) for $44.95 and Lush's Sympathy for the Skin Lotion either in store or online for $26.95 and that's for an 8.4 oz container, which is the only size they offer. They're pricey, but worth every penny!
If you guys remember, I posted before about how obsessed I am with the Yes to Tomatoes Daily Scrub that I was using as my face wash. It's pretty fabulous. So, when I ran out, I was like, let me try the gel cleanser. And you know what? I hate it. Here's why:
First, the texture is far from what I would consider gel. It's literally like glue. And as you rub it together on your hands to lather, it leaves a slimy gross texture and it's awful. Second, the smell is weird. You know me, I don't care about smells as long as the product works, but this one sucks, so the smell bothers me on top of the fact that it doesn't work. Third and lastly, there's this..
