Every time I'm like, okay Ash, no more makeup... I go ahead and buy more! KVD had a promotion where you spent XYZ dollars, you get a mini studded lipstick and mini liquid lipstick in shade called Lovecraft, which is a mauve pink nude, plus a free makeup bag. Do I need another makeup bag? No, I do not. Did that matter? No, it did not.
So I ordered: the travel size of Sinner, which I'm so mad I didn't buy the one with the new Sinner shade of liquid lipstick in it because the shade is a beautiful dark purple but that's irrelevant right now, additionally I got a full size Tattoo Liner, plus MetalMatte mini eyeshadow palette. Let's talk the palette first...
Sometimes (most of the time) the fine details are really what draws me in. This palette is called MetalMatte, and if you're holding the palette up, it says Metal, and upside down, it says Matte. I just love that.
This palette is called MetalMatte because half the shades are matte, and the other are shimmery, yet they complement each other, as you can see below...
SO PRETTY RIGHT?! I can't get enough of these colors. They're neutral, but with some zing to them.
I thoroughly believe in using a primer on your eyelids for accurate color portrayal, as well as longer wear. Pre-mascara, this is the shades I'm wearing in the photos above: I used Velvet on the outer corners and blended it into half my crease, used Synergy for the middle and blended it through the rest of my crease, and added some Thunderstruck to the inner corners to make my eyes look away and bright (which believe me you, in real life, they weren't). Lastly, I used Suede, since it's closest to my skin color, up to my brown, just to even everything out.
Fun fact: I have a scar, which you can see in the photo, from my aunt's dog from when I was a kid. She got me good with her paw, and I bled for what felt like forever. My glasses hide it, so it doesn't bother me as much as it used to.
Moving on, I really love this palette. I expected nothing less. It lasted all day, and the colors are so complementary and I think they would look beautiful on all skin tones. A+ from me!
Now, let's talk about Lovecraft, in the new and improved Studded Kiss formula. I didn't try the Everlasting Liquid Matte, simply because I was excited to try the new formula out for the other one.
The color is pretty, it's just not a color I would personally choose. I prefer darker colors, as I feel they compliment my skin tone better than lighter colors. I love mauve, but this shows more pink against my skin tone. I was surprised though, because the new formula seems kind of drying. I'm not sure how I feel about it yet. I think I need to try another color. I happen to have gotten a 10% off my next Sephora purchase, so I may go buy another lip stick. She's got so many shades to choose from, picking one is going to be the hard part!
Overall, I'm thrilled with my purchase. KVD never lets me down!
I'm a frequent Herbivore Clothing shopper. I wanted to show out some swag I got that.
Appropriately, I wore this shirt Easter weekend. I think engrained in all vegans is a love for bunnies, because #teamherbivore and they're so friggin cute. I am no different. I love all animals, of course, but bunnies are some of my favorites. This shirt is super soft, and I remember I got it on sale. I ordered an XS, and was afraid it wasn't going to fit my boobs. But, the material stretches well, and it fits fine, it's just a little shorter than I prefer. But, it's soft and it's cute and the message is even cuter. I bought this literally forever ago, but I have SO MANY CLOTHES (that I really need to go through), I literally just wore this for the first time lol. And I'm glad I did, because I love it.
A more recent purchase that I got about 1-2 weeks ago...
Pins are life. Herbivore Clothing just released some new ones, and while I wanted to order all of them for my pin board, I ordered two. One says "Herbivore" which simply gets the message across. The other says "Meat Never Plants Forever" with a thumbs down for meat and a thumbs up for plants. Both made great additions to my pin boards!
Now, this is an XS unisex shirt, but what the company just started offering is unisex shirts with a more feminine cut, like they cute the neckline and sleeves to make it more flattering than just a regular unisex tshirt. I love it. I own a ton of unisex shirts, and I'm incredibly picky with necklines, because when they're too high I feel like I'm choking, but I like the length, because I prefer longer shirts. The design is great, I love the galaxy pattern. And the message is clear; the future is vegan! The shirt is soft and has stretch to it, and it fits great. I'm so glad I bought it.
I know it's been awhile since I've posted but life has just been CRAZY. I got a new job, and I've been training for two weeks, and I just started and I'm still so confused on what I'm doing and quite frankly, overwhelmed. Adding that to school work and life stresses, I need a few more hours in a day, days in a week, weeks in a month, and months in a year.
ANYWAY, let's discuss this OFRA brand blush in Charm. I bought it online from Ulta, and had tried other things from them in my VegaCuts box I'm pretty sure. I did some research, and they're a vegan and cruelty free company, but I believe their products are only available on the Ulta website, not in store. You can also order from the OFRA website too, of course.
I use Illuminare liquid mineral blush usually, but I like a little powder blush on top because of the mattifying effect. I had run out of my Too Faced one and wanted something that wasn't super expensive. Plus, choosing the right shade of blush is HARD. This shade is a natural peach matte (I don't know if I would go peach. It's kind of a light light mauve, but that's just me). It was only $12, compared to $28 for my Too Faced that's a great deal. It's smaller than I anticipated, but I don't need a lot, just a dusting over my usual mineral blush.
I took two photos, ones with this blush alone and one layered with my regular mineral blush.
Here's blush alone:
Depending on how you look at it, this blush isn't highly pigmented, at least on my skin. So, you can use just a little to add a little flush to your face, and if you're fair skinned, it might add more than a little flush. For me, I couldn't wear this alone. It's not enough of a pop on my skin. It does look natural though, and that I really like.
Here's mineral blush with this layered on top:
This is my full face, but you can see more color to my cheeks than before.
Depending on your preference and skin tone, you may need to adjust your application technique or layer. There are other shades too, and for $12, I'm thrilled. That's a steal. I want to check out some of their other products too. I'm always looking for new products to try. I'm thinking about signing up for 4 boxes of the VeganCuts Quarterly Makeup Box, and prepaying for it, as a little treat to myself. Not that I need it, I did just buy $85 worth of KVD makeup lol. I wish retail therapy was covered by my insurance!
Anyway, you can't beat this price, and there is other colors to try. Check it out!
