Today I'm going to talk to you guys about Petit Vour's April Beauty Box! Here's the goodies that we're inside:
There were actually a few different combinations of what you could've gotten this month. I know that the 100% Pure Product coulee also a blush pot, but personally I'm glad I got the eye shadow instead. The value of this box is $45.50 which is pretty awesome! Let's start our reviews with the Juara Hand and Nail Balm, which was my personal favorite from this box.
Juara is a vegetarian skincare brand inspired by Indonesian botanicals. They offer vegan products as well, such as this hand balm. This is a hand, nail, and cuticle balm. I know absolutely nothing about Indonesia, so I was excited to do some research on the ingredients found in this balm! The main ingredients are coconut and illipe butter. Illipe is fat that comes from the nuts of the Shorea Stenoptera, which is a crop found in the Borneo Jungle in Southeast Asia. It both moisturizes and protects skin from the elements. It also contains Buriti oil, which comes from the tropical Moriche Palm Tree, and is used to help heal, soothe, and protect skin as well as help with elasticity. This cream is the perfect consistency. It applies easily and absorbs nicely. The smell is my favorite part. It's mainly coconut with other natural and tropical scents combined and I absolutely love it. It left my hands feeling soft and smooth. The full size bottle of this is $20.
Next up, the Kumari Body Oil.
Kumari is an Ayurveda inspired bath and body line. It's my understanding that Ayurveda is a traditional holistic form of healing using nature's ingredients to help soothe the mind, body, and soul. This oil is for both your body and as a bath oil. I used it on my legs and feet. They say it's best to do right out of the shower or bath, but I was too impatient and had to try it right away. I did also use it after my shower to compare if it made a difference. Shower or not, my skin felt soft and smooth, but I did feel that I would need to apply more at night as I didn't feel like my skin stayed moisturized all day. That's really my only con.
But, I absolutely love the scent. It's lavender, chamomile, and mint. It's really a pleasant experience applying it as the fragrance really relaxes you. The oil isn't heavy at all, it's light and I found it very easy to massage into my skin and absorb. This would make a great massage oil too, both because of the oil consistency and because of the super relaxing scent. This stuff has nearly 100% organic ingredients. Every ingredient serves an obvious purpose and there's no fillers. It's a combination of grape seed, olive, and sesame oil, plus the fragrance oils. It's really natural! I felt like I didn't need a lot to get the job done either. The scent does linger, but it smells so good I just wish it would last longer. The full size 2 oz bottle is $34.
I love 100% Pure. I've posted about their products on several occasions, and I was so thrilled to see this full sized $25 eye shadow in my box! Applying it is super easy. I used my finger. It went on so smooth. It's really light and silky when you apply it. The color alone is pretty and it's enough color to give your look a little flair if you're a minimal makeup kind of person.
Unfortunately, I was really sad by how fast this creases. I mean, it started creasing before I left for work, so like within a 30-40 minutes after I applied it. Perhaps using it as a base then using powder shadow on top might make it last longer. The color remained around my creases though, so that was good. I'll still continue to use it, even if it's just as a base, because I love how neutral the color is. It's not white, it's like a shimmery cream color. It's flattering on everyone I think. Would I ever pay $25 for this? No way, but I'm happy to have received it in my box regardless. I think I'm going to try it as a highlighter as well, considering it's like the perfect color for a highlighter. I might like it better on a less oily surface. I'll update this post if I like it as a highlighter!
Lastly, Ursa Major face balm.
I really love the smell of this face balm. It's so natural. You know the smell when you first walk in Lush? It smells like that. Fruity, citrusy, sweet, and balanced out with an herbal scent. It applies nicely and dries quickly with little residue on my face. It dries matte so there's no oiliness after using it. It made my skin really soft too. I didn't notice a big difference applying my makeup on top of it compared to when I don't use it. It's more like a serum not a moisturizer. You can apply moisturizer afterwards if you feel your face needs it. I would apply this first though, then your moisturizer second after this dries, which only takes a minute or so.
When used regularly, this balm is supposed to help your skin maintain its youthful appearance and texture. I can't speak to that being true or not. Also, it's supposed to help soothe skin. So if you have sensitive or irritated skin, I would definitely give this a try.
The ingredients are 100% natural with 82% being organic, and I really love that about this brand. You can get 0.5 oz for $14, 2.5 oz for $36, or both for $48, so you can choose which suits you best.
Overall I'm definitely happy with this box. Petit Voir always delivers!
You guys know I can't get enough animal related clothing. Some people wear their heart on their sleeve, I wear my love for animals on my shirt, pants, hoodies.. you name it. If it's cute, I love it. If it sends a message about veganism or animal welfare, I need it. If I can have all these things, AND my purchase helps animals, I will buy it, hands down. At this point, I almost can't justify spending money on any other clothing item unless a portion of it goes to helping animals. I've talked to you guys about my love for The Tree Kisser, Alba Paris, Vegan Police Shop, and a few others. Today I want to talk about Operation Preservation by Arm The Animals.
Operation Preservation is focused on saving animals that are on the brink of extinction. The 4 core animals you see on this collection is: pandas, elephants, rhinos, and lions. Here's the designs of the shirts from their Instagram:
The message of these designs are real, and if I'm being honest, hard to read without getting emotional. Even now as I type this, I'm getting choked up. I personally did not know that elephants and rhinos are so close to extinction that they could be no more by 2020, less than 4 years from our present day. And that lions could be extinct by 2050! I can't imagine if I ever have kids and then eventually grandkids, and I show them one of my personal favorite movies, The Lion King, and them having to ask me "Grandma, what's a lion?" I love all of these beautiful creatures, but the hardest one for me is the pandas. Pandas are absolutely one of my favorite animals. I knew that their situation was dire, and that there's a lot of places in China trying to help these animals reproduce. But to know that there's 1,864 pandas left in the wild? It breaks my heart.
Not only do these shirts spread awareness for these beautiful and majestical creatures, for the entire month of April, Arm The Animals will be donating 20% of the proceeds from this collection and splitting it between Wildaid, Wildlife SOS in India, Zimbabwe Conservation Task Force, and Save The Rhino. These organizations are determined to helping to save these animals from extinction
We are the voices of animals. It's our job to spread awareness of these very real problems these animals are facing. If you wear these shirts during your every day life, more people will be aware of these problems and want to help. It's a chain reaction that can start with one person, and spiral from there. I'm so grateful that ATA has created this collection and is dedicated to helping these animals as well. It's a beautiful thing and I truly hope you decide to support this cause. The prices are completely fair knowing what you're paying for. I ordered the panda shirt in the black and white raglan, which I haven't received yet otherwise I would've posted a photo of it. Even still, I've read reviews and I know that they offer great quality shirts. You won't have to worry about washing them once and them falling apart.
ATA offers different styles for both men and women. Tshirts, tank tops, and sweatshirts in all of these designs. If I'm being honest, I want the entire collection. ATA is offering a giveaway on their Instagram for this entire collection, so absolutely follow them and enter! My fingers are super duper crossed for this one!
They offer other designs for cat lovers, dog lovers, wildlife lovers, and animal lovers in general. They have a current special where you can get 3 cat/dog/wildlife tank top, tshirts, or both for $33, which is only $11 a shirt and so totally worth it! It's like a blind bag kind of thing since you can't choose, but they're designs are all so cute regardless. They also offer mugs, iPhone cases, kid's clothing, pet accessories, hats, bags, and more! They're a small company, so please help support them as they help to support animals!
Back in 2008, I remember going to the movies to see The Happening, a horror movie directed by M. Night Shyaman. I'm a huge horror movie fan, so when I saw the previews, it looked awesome and I was so excited to see it. However, when I finished the movie, I was nothing short of disappointed.
SPOILER ALERT: the trees and plants are killing people. What?! Basically, humans were using up so much of the Earth's precious resources and turning it into a giant garbage can and they fought back by releasing a toxin to make people kill themselves. Through this population control, the Earth could regain balance.
I remember thinking about how ridiculous and absurd it was. What kinda plot was that for a horror movie?!
As I've gotten older and wiser, this plot makes more sense in my head. Not that I think trees are gonna kill people, but the message behind that movie is clear: respect Mother Earth, or else.
In the past eight years, I've learned a lot about this beautiful planet we call home, some good and some bad. Everything I've leaned has helped me to open up my eyes to the truth. On this Earth Day, a very special day, I felt it appropriate to do a post on why this day is so important, and what you can do to make a change in your daily life.
So why is this day important? To answer that question, ask yourself, why is the Earth important? Last time I checked, we only have one Earth, and without it we can't survive. That's a fact. I think people seem to think that we can keep destroying it, and it will keep being there for us, but that's not how it works. The Earth isn't full of unlimited resources.
Here's a scary and sad fact: the World Economic Forum released a report saying that by 2050 there will be more trash than fish in the ocean. There are an estimated 20,000 different species of fish in all the oceans. And that's only species! Imagine how many fish that equates to living in the ocean. It's hard to comprehend there being more trash than fish living in all the oceans. These oceans of course covering more than 70% of Earth's surface. Earth being the 5th largest planet in our solar system, weighing in at 6.6 sextillion ton, according to space.com - that's a number I don't even think we can process it's so big. So if more than 70% of all this is covered in oceans, which have billions of fish swimming in them, and by 2050 there will be more plastic than fish floating in those oceans.. take a minute to let that sink in.
Simple changes often have the biggest impact. That's because the easier it is to do, the more people are willing and able to do it. Here's some simple steps you can take to live a more green life:
Reduce. Reuse. Recycle.
-Reduce the amount of waste and power you have. If you're not using an appliance, unplug it. Keeps electricity off if you don't need it. Ride a bike or walk somewhere instead of drive if it's possible.
-Reuse everything you can. If you can afford to spend $4 (or more) on a case of water each week, you can afford to buy a reusable water bottle to use each day. Reusable shopping bags are not only cheap (most of mine were $.99), but they're cute! I've got so many cute designs, and they make shopping easier. Instead of having 50 plastic bags, I can use a few usable ones and I'm good to go. I keep them in my car so I'm never without them. I love using empty makeup containers for something else. I'm looking forward to using my empty glass bottle from my face mist to pot a little plant in it!
-Recycle! Everyone can recycle. Most townships offer recycling now. It doesn't take more than a second to separate your trash into actual trash and recyclables. A lot of food stores and Target offer recycling for plastic bags too! As you read above about the plastic in the ocean, recycling is so so important!
-Plant a tree or plant your own potted plant out of a mason jar or whatever you have handy!
-Buy Eco friendly items! There's so many brands that offer eco friendly clothes made from organic material and water based inks. When the time comes for a new car, look into a hybrid. Use vinegar and baking soda concoctions for cleaning, which are both cheap and chemical free! When buying Eco friendly, you want to make sure that: during production, while using, and when disposing of, the products don't harm the environment. That's the key.
-Grow your own garden! Even living in an apartment, you can have a cute little garden inside. You just need some sunshine and water, and some good YouTube instructions lol. I know that growing herbs can be pretty simple, I've been looking into having my own herb garden. If I can figure it out, I'll let you guys know in a different post!
-Go paperless! How many pieces of junk mail do you get daily? Or bills that you pay online and have no need for a paper statement? With everything being so easy to receive electronically in today's world, opt to go paperless as often as you can.
-My last tip is the one I recommend the most: Go vegan! As if you need any more reasons, going vegan isn't just better for the animals and for you, but for the environment too. Did you know that the meat and dairy industry is responsible about 50% of the world's greenhouse gas emissions? The number varies depending on who you get your facts from, but no one denies that it's a huge contributor to it. What it takes to grow the massive amount of food to feed the animals, and water for them to drink, then mercilessly killing them, packing, transporting, and storing their flesh for people to eat.. that's a lot of resources being used. In addition to that, all that food and water causes body waste, which breaks down releasing more dangerous gas into our world. By going vegan, you not only feel better about not adding to the cruelty but by reducing your carbon footprint!
This year, vow to make Earth Day every day. Mother Earth gives us life daily; food, water, oxygen. It's time we start respecting her daily.
Happy Earth Day to you all!
By now, you guys are aware I'm obsessed with both vanilla and 100% Pure. I used their Coconut Nourishing Body Cream before and I absolutely loved it. Since I just finished it up and I had a coupon, I figured it was time I give the vanilla one a try!
I love that 100% Pure's ingredients are actually 100% pure. I wanted to include the ingredients list for you guys so you can see that for yourself. Also, it's gluten free!
The texture is pretty awesome, just like their coconut cream. It's like whipped almost, but a little thicker. It's like the perfect consistency where it's not too much for the summer that you feel like it's just sitting on your skin, and it's thick enough to help with your dry winter skin. It's white so it's clear of dyes, which is a bonus for sensitive skin.
They use Vanilla Absolute so the scent is like so super amazing! Don't think like Birthday Cake Yankee Candle, it's not a fake vanilla smell. It's really genuine. I wish the scent lasted longer. I constantly reapply it because of the smell. If they bottled this scent into a perfume, my life would be complete.
My skin always feels so soft after using this. I use it on my whole body and my hands, but I've never used it on my face. It absorbs nicely into my skin as well. It looks and feels a little greasy while it absorbing though, so be aware of that. You don't just want to put clothes on right away, but even if you did because you were rushing (which is essentially the story of my life) it won't leave any residue on your clothes. I know, because I've done it.
Overall, this is totally on my recommended list. It's $19 and free shipping, as always! Make sure you're following them on Instagram and signed up for their email list because they have sales pretty often.
While browsing my local Target (like I do a few times a week because its Target), I was checking out some of their new products and came across these Chia Bar snacks by Health Warrior. They were on sale so I figured I would check them out! I got two flavors: Banana Nut and Chocolate Peanut Butter. Yum!
I decided to do a list of pros and cons for you guys. This list applies to both flavors.
-Both flavors were super tasty. I liked the Banana Nut just a tad more than the Chocolate Peanut Butter. Both flavors were very real, not artificial. The ingredients are very natural. The banana had dried bananas in them, and the chocolate peanut butter had real chocolate chips and peanuts in them! I loved it!
-Only 100 calories per bar!
-They offer 4g of fiber 3g of protein, which is great when added to an already healthy diet.
-They also offer 1100g of Omega-3, which helps to reduce bad cholesterol and keep your heart in tip top shape!
-They're also gluten free!
-Chia is a super food and it's great to have a bar that's so convenient to eat so you can get the health benefits of chia wherever you go! I know you can put them in beverages, yogurts, oatmeal, etc.. but I love having them in a bar for the convenience factor.
-It's not messy at all. No crumbs!
-Even though they're facility makes non-vegan products they state "Good manufacturing practices are used to segregate ingredients in a facility that processes other products.." And it lists nuts, dairy, and eggs. So that makes me feel good knowing they understand keeping cross contamination to a minimum for both vegan purposes and allergy purposes.
-Despite the size on the front, they were way tinier than I anticipated when I bought them. Like I don't know how much 25 grams is in size when it refers to food.
-The price is high considering how small they are. You get 5 of these tiny bars per back. They were on sale at Target which is why I bought them. But even the sale was 2 for $8 which I feel is expensive all things considered.
-The bars are super chewy and they stick to your teeth. And the chia seeds get stuck too. I feel like I need to brush my teeth after I eat one.
-They're not a great snack on their own if you're hungry and want something to hold you over, say between breakfast and lunch. You would need to pair this with like an apple or a banana, something with a little more density. I tried it and still felt hungry.
Bottom Line: While I did enjoy these tasty little snacks, I don't think I would repurchase for the price reason alone. The price to the size just doesn't justify it. If I were to find them for a great sale price, then I definitely would because they have a lot of pros. But in this case, it wasn't enough to outdue the price.
A little over a week ago, Trust Fund Beauty posted a funny picture to which I commented something funny relating to it. I can't help avoid a good pun lol. Turns out, to my surprise, they were doing a give away as well! They didn't even list it as a give away lol. And they selected me as one of the winners!
Apparently, they enjoy a good pun as much as I do! I had absolutely no clue what I had won, until I received my prize yesterday! I received a full size of their highlighter stick, That Glo Tho! This product retails for $20, so I was so stoked to receive it for free! Plus, I'm such a fan of highlighter sticks. I love that they're convenient to carry with you and just apply whenever you need a little glow!
Trust Fund Beauty is a vegan and cruelty free company. They offer this lovely highlighter, as well as lipstick, and beautiful nail polish shades! Their nail polish is actually 10 free, meaning free of the top 10 awful disgusting harmful ingredients. They strive to make their products as natural as possible. No toxins and no harmful ingredients can be pricy, but it's worth the price to know what you're avoiding.
This highlighter stick applies with ease. It doesn't goop up. It's really smooth, and leaves your skin smooth with minimal residue. A little goes a long way too, which is a bonus! All I did was apply it where I needed it with a stick, then blended t with my fingers. It was so easy and so fast, it barely took up any time.
It provides, in my opinion, the perfect amount of shimmer. It's not natural to the point where it's barely noticeable but it's not too much to the point where you feel like you're at a rave. It makes your features pop in a good way. It's really pretty!
The color is a pretty peach shade and it adds a nice subtle color wherever you apply it. I used mine as an eye shadow which was SO perfect for. It accentuated my eyes really well. I also used it to highlight my cheekbones, which looked really pretty.
I definitely recommend this product to you guys! It's multipurposful and the price is fair all things considering. Check out all the good Trust Fund Beauty has to offer!
I placed a small order from Petit Vour earlier this week to try a few new products. I only got sample sizes because I love to try before I buy!
First, I want to talk about Bloom 23 by My Daughter's fragrance. I'm not a floral perfume fan, but the description said "A celebration of white florals, on top of a whipped vanilla base." They had me at whipped vanilla! The other notes are: gardenia, jasmine, rose, and sandalwood. I figured the vanilla and sandalwood seemed up my alley, and it was only $2 for a 1 ml sample, I figured it couldn't hurt to try it.
To my surprise, I actually really liked the scent! It's absolutely floral based more than anything, but it's a light floral scent so it's not too overpowering. It's fresh, and it's like the perfect spring scent. You can get a brief vanilla scent, but I feel like all it does is tone down the floral scent. I wish the vanilla was a tad more prominent. It's not a scent I would wear year round, it's not that versatile in my opinion. It's absolutely not a perfume that will stand out in a crowd if you're wearing it. It doesn't make a statement when you walk into the room. It's not that strong of a perfume. Those in your own personal bubble will smell it, but not those around you. Also, on my skin the scent didn't last long at all. I really wish it did though! I know I've read reviews that it lasts long on other skin, but that's all dependent on body chemistry, and since everyone's is different you never know until you try it.
I definitely recommend trying a sample of it before you purchase the full sized $85 bottle. Despite how much I love this perfume, I don't think I would get my money's worth buying a full sized bottle. My hunt for the perfect perfume continues.
Let's talk about Zoe Organic's Cream. I got the sample size which is .25 oz for $4. The description said that this was developed for severely dry skin and conditions like eczema. I have a lot of eczema going on right now, and no matter how many creams I have I cant help but try another one. I've been using it specifically on my hands and my eye lids. My hands currently are just super dry and cracked, no eczema patches. My eye lids are really struggling with eczema patches. I think it's from my allergies personally. But they're red, itchy, and they burn like no other. This cream is completely scent free, which is great because it's less likely to irritate or burn my skin further than it already is. The ingredients are natural and soothing: avocado oil, Shea butter, marshmallow root, Jojoba oil, Rosehip seed oil, coconut oil, rosemary extract, and calendula flowers. Basic simple no nonsense ingredients.
It's a bit difficult to get out of the jar because it's so thick. I hate getting stuff under my nails but I have no choice with this because you can barely get any out using your fingertips. It's also hard to apply because of that as well. To be fair, this is the kind of cream you want if you have dry skin. You have to take your time to apply it and really rub it in your dry area. It does take awhile to absorb, especially between my fingers. It's not a nuisance when I'm sitting down and watching TV, I just wouldn't be able to use this at work. As for my fingers, I feel like it did help the dryness. I've been applying it to my knuckles and between my fingers which is where they're the most dry, and I feel as though it's helping. I personally don't feel like I would buy the full size simply because I have a lot of other creams already and I realistically don't need another one, but I think it's a good product and reasonably priced as well.
Lastly, Modern Mineral's Finishing Glow in Tea Rose. I had truly wanted to try Sunrise, as I feel like the peach would've been a better color for my skin than the pink, but they only had the Tea Rose in a sample size. The color is actually lighter than it is in the photos online.
On my skin tone, (light/medium/neutral and right now I've got a little tan), I don't think the the color would've mattered anyway because this didn't leave any color on my face at all. I feel like the colors are kind of null and void because they don't show up. The shimmer is super super fine, so it doesn't make you look like you were at a rave all night, which is great. It's very subtle.
I applied this after my foundation before my bronzer and blush. Personally, I think the subtle shimmer is really pretty. My face doesn't look overdone, and if I chose to I could've highlighted my face more with it in certain spots, but I like it as an all over product. This has the right amount of shimmer for my liking. I haven't used it in bare skin, it may have a different effect without foundation. But because the shimmer is so fine, I don't think it would make much of a difference.
If you're looking for a strong shimmer, bypass this. This provides more of a natural look. By mid day it was barely noticeable on my face. So if you're one who likes a very minimal palette, you'll probably really like this. Regardless, I absolutely recommend tryin the sample before you commit to a full size. I can't say I loved it or hated it, I feel kind of indifferent towards it.
So I realized that in the almost year I've been reviewing products and writing this blog, I've never reviewed anything strictly for men. And I got to thinking, well I have this perfectly good husband I could use as my test dummy! He'll pretty much try anything anyway. While shopping for body wash for him, I talked him into trying the Every Man Jack body wash, a cruelty free and mostly vegan alternative to Old Spice and Axe and brands of that nature. I asked him to take brief notes on the smell, the texture, color, how it made his skin feel, was it drying? Moisturizing? Stuff like that. I kept it simple for him. Well, in typical man fashion, the response I got from him was "It smelled good." Lol. So, I decided, for the sake of reviewing, I'll use the body wash myself and smell like a man all day!
Let's talk about the brand itself first. Every Man Jack is a cruelty free and mostly vegan brand that offers essential grooming items for men. They offer: body wash and body bars, deodorant, sunblock, razors, hair products, a variety of face wash, scrubs, and lotions. The scents that they offer are: Sandalwood, Cedarwood, Signature Mint, Eucalyptus Mint, and Citrus. Today I'm going to be reviewing their body wash in Cedarwood.
Do you like how I took the photo of this manly body wash in front of my super girly shower curtain?! Lol.
Texture: This is a clear thicker gel body wash. It lathers really well, which is good for my husband as he works a physical job and needs something that will really get him clean. I used a handful on myself which was more than enough. So a little does go a long way, especially if you use a loofah. I did not because I didn't want my loofah smelling manly lol.
Scent: Cedarwood is a really masculine scent. It's woodsy, and smells just like you would expect it to. It's a scent similar to brands like Old Spice but without the testing on poor innocent animals part, so really, it's better. It's s sexy smell for a man, so I really liked it. I've also smelled the Sandalwood, and this applies to that as well.
The scent didn't last long on my skin, which for myself I was happy with, but it smells so good I wish it would last longer on my husband's skin. Perhaps if there was a body lotion scented the same, layering would help that smell last longer. My husband wouldn't use it because he has this weird aversion to lotion, but I know other men would.
Verdict: I really liked this body wash. It did make my skin feel clean but not dried out after using it. I still needed to apply moisturizer of course, but my skin didn't feel tight. I recommend this body wash to all the men reading this, and to all the ladies reading this for their men! Be mindful that not all of their products are vegan, but they are all cruelty free. I wrote to their customer service about which products are vegan, and a really nice gentleman named Pete responded with this:
Be sure to check out their website and stop by Target! I got this body wash for my husband there and it was only $4.99- their website lists it for $6. Target only had the body wash from what I saw, but to be fair I wasn't looking for anything else.
I plan on doing reviews for some other manly things in the future. I have one product in mind I want to get for my husband to try.
I know I've done a few posts before that have included Hurraw lip balm reviews, so for today I'm just reviewing this new flavor by them. Hurraw is easily my favorite vegan lip balm brand. I use the Moon Balm religiously. But when I placed my most recent order I saw this new flavor and I thought it would be so perfect for the upcoming warmer months, so I just had to try it!
Texture: Very creamy and smooth, just like their other balms. Adds a really nice shine to your lips which is colorless despite the bright orange color of this balm.
Packaging: Hurraw uses oval tubes, which I prefer to round tubes. I love the design of the label for this one. The bright colors and the foiled fruit shapes just really make it pop.
Flavor and scent: One word- amazing! It reminds me of a papaya pineapple smoothie! It's sweet and juicy, and it smells just as good!
Why it's special: This lip balm is the only one that contains cold pressed papaya seed oil. This oil is not only full of essential fatty acids and great for your skins but it helps with inflammation and helps to breakdown old skin cells, revealing fresh soft skin!
I can't recommend Hurraw enough and especially this and the Moon Balm. Both are $4.29 each. When you place an order online, you have to purchase 3 balms as the minimum. But shipping is like $2 something so it's cheap, and they always throw in a random 4th lip balm for free, which more than covers the cost of shipping.
I was going to do a reveal post when I got my Petit Vour March Beauty Box but I decided instead to try everything and do a reveal and review! Here's what March's box came with:
-Lauren B. Beauty's Dual Base and Top Coat $22 (full size)
-Yarok Feed Your Moisture Shampoo $1
-Little Barn Apothecary Geranium + White Tea Beauty Mist $8
-Suki Transformative Purifying Masque $17
-Full value of this box: $57
I was the most excited for this out of everything. I've been wanting to try Lauren B. Beauty nail polish for literally ever. But their polish is super expensive, as you can see by the $22 price tag. My other base/top coat was at that old stage where it's getting goopy and stringy so I needed a new one, and this couldn't have come at a better time. I've used it twice already and I love it. It leaves a really natural shine on your nails if you wear it plain. And if you use it with color it does help to seal in your polish really well. It lasts awhile too, coming from someone who washes their hands constantly! In addition to creating a smooth canvas for polish, it also helps your prevent drying, peeling, cracking, and staining of your nails!
Next up, Feed Your Moisture Shampoo by Yarok.
I'm gonna be super honest with you, this teeny tiny sample was hardly enough for me to judge whether or not I liked this product. It wasn't even enough for one wash, I had to mix it with my Pacifica shampoo. I can say that it smelled really nice. This shampoo is infused with the organic essential oils of orange, ylang ylang, and rosemary. It's made with organic fair trade African Black Soap as well. The coconut, Argan, and hemp seed oil deliver moisture where you need it! The brand itself it all about being good for the earth, for the environment, and for the animals! There's different types of products to meet each hair need. This moisture shampoo comes in 3 different sizes with 3 different price tags: 2 oz for $12, 12 oz for $39, and 32 for $74.
Next up, the beauty mist.
First, I just wanna say how much I love this glass bottle. It just feels fancy and it adds a level of luxury to this beauty mist. The scent of this is really light and soft. It smells really nice. It's not overly floral, it has a nice balance. It doesn't sting my face and hasn't caused any irritation. It made my skin feel really soft too. The Geranium oil in this is used for a few purposes. It's an astringent, so it tightens skin to reduce the look of wrinkles. It also increases blood flow to the skin, which will help to heal spots left behind from acne. Also, geranium is known for its mood enhancing and stress reliever properties. The white tea is full of antioxidants, with combined with the geranium oil, this mist is a plant based powerhouse for your skin. I've been spraying it on my fingertips and massaging it into place. I figured spraying it on my fingers first I could have better control of how much I applied to my face. This bottle was $8, and the full size is $16. You can find it on the Petit Vour website.
Lastly, the Suki face mask.
I was pretty stoked for this. This brand has so many great products to offer, and this one is no different. Nothing works miracles, of course, but for some troubled spots you can use it overnight as a spot treatment or as a whole face mask overnight. If you don't want to use it overnight, 20 minutes then removing it with a damp warm cloth is sufficient as well. It smells good, makes my face soft and helped to reduce some redness. It's super expensive for the full size ($49 for a 1 oz bottle), so I don't know if I would buy the full size. I'll finish this sample and make my full verdict.
Overall, another great box by Petit Vour! I can't wait to see the hopefully Spring themed goodies April's box brings!
